78th Independence Day 9 (K) Girls BN NCC, Calicut KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri ———————————————— The NCC Army Wing of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri celebrated 78th Independence Day on 15 Aug 2024, with the aim of instilling patriotism and national pride among the cadets. The programme’s objective was to commemorate the sacrifices of freedom fighters, highlighting the significance of Independence, and inspire young minds to uphold national values. Lt. Loosiya. KP, Associate NCC Officer, welcomed the gathering, followed by the flag hoisting ceremony by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Muhammed Basheer Ummathur. In his Independence Day message, he emphasised unity, integrity and responsibility towards the nation, highlighting the contributions of freedom fighters and encouraging cadets to strive for excellence. The programme successfully achieved its aim and objective, filling the hearts of all present with pride and unity. The cadets were inspired to work towards the nation’s betterment, and the celebration was a fitting tribute to independence. A total of 67 cadets and 10 hostellers participated in the programme. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by UO Asna Sherin (V Sem BSc Mathematics), followed by the NCC Song and National Anthem, ending the celebration on a patriotic note.
