ALUMNI TALK SERIES – 1 ‘Designing Life’ PG Department of Home Science conducted Alumni Talk Series – 1 on 24th July 2024 through Google Meet from 7:30 pm to 8:45 pm. The aim of the Alumni Talk Series was to provide students with insights into real-world applications of Home Science education and inspire them through the experiences of successful alumni. The objective was to facilitate learning beyond the classroom and encourage students to envision and plan their career paths in Home Science. Dr. Annie Ninan, Associate Professor and Head, welcomed participants and highlighted the importance of such alumni interactions in shaping students’ perspectives. The session ‘Designing Life’ was led by Ms. Seena. KS, HSST Home Science, SRV Govt. (M) HSS, Ernamkulam, Cochin (Alumna BSc FCS 1995-98). The talk covered various aspects related to ‘Designing Life,’ including career opportunities in Home Science, personal growth strategies, and the application of academic knowledge in professional and personal life. Students were inspired by Ms. Seena’s journey from being an alumna of the department to her current professional achievements. Students actively participated in an interactive question and answers session, seeking advice on career planning and personal growth strategies. Over 50 UG and PG students and department faculties actively participated. Dr. NV. Fatimathu Zuhara, Assistant Professor, thanked Ms. Seena for her valuable insights, emphasizing the relevance of alumni contributions in inspiring current students. Ms. Shahma. P, Student Coordinator (V Sem BSc FCS), moderated the session. Ms. Loosiya. KP, Faculty Coordinator and Assistant Professor Adhoc, expressed gratitude to all participants and concluded the session.
