*Campus Connect: The Three-Day Student Induction Program for First Years by IQAC*
*Manjeri: * Under the banner of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), an induction programme titled “Campus Connect” was organized at Korambayil Ahammed Haji Memorial Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, for the students admitted to the four-year undergraduate programme 2024-25. The three-day programme commenced on July 29, 2024, and was inaugurated by Dr. K. Muhammad Shareef, Assistant Professor, Department of Malayalam, Farook Training College, Kozhikode. In his address, he reminded the students to strive to become individuals who nurture their dreams and contribute to society. The event was presided over by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Muhammad Basheer Ummathur. College Manager Engineer O. Abdul Ali, Non-Teaching Staff Secretary Mr. Adam Thannari, and Union Chairperson Fathima Shiril extended their felicitations. IQAC Coordinator Dr. Shahina Mol A. K. delivered the welcome speech, and F.Y.U.G.P. Coordinator Shabeermon M expressed gratitude.
Following the inauguration, a personality development training session led by Dr. Shareef was conducted. The afternoon sessions included a presentation on IQAC activities to ensure quality on campus, a session on the features of the Calicut University Four Year Undergraduate Programme, and an orientation on NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning).
*Day 2: 5th August 2024*
The second day of the induction programme at Unity Women’s College was designed to enhance students’ skills and awareness about various aspects of college life and personal development. The day began with a workshop on study skills and time management conducted by Noushad Sir, followed by an introduction to the Embase application. Subsequent sessions included a presentation on the “Share and Care” charity initiative by IQAC, a session on the Seethisahib chair, and a briefing on the college’s code of conduct. The morning concluded with a discussion on various student cells. In the afternoon, students received information on scholarships, an overview of evaluation methods, and introductions to the National Service Scheme (NSS) and the National Cadet Corps (NCC). The day ended with a discussion on union activities, ensuring students were well-informed about the opportunities and resources available to them.
*Day 3: 6th August 2024*
The third day focused on providing students with essential information about counseling services, campus resources, and fostering a sense of community. The day began with a counseling session, followed by an overview of the bus service. Students were introduced to library and learning resources, office services, and various clubs throughout the morning. The afternoon sessions included information on sports activities, a “Meet the Faculty Team” session, and presentations on YIP (Young Innovators Programme), ED (Entrepreneurship Development), and IEDC (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre). The programme concluded with feedback and cultural activities, allowing students to reflect on their experiences and engage with their peers in a vibrant and supportive environment. The three-day induction programme concluded with a variety of informative and engaging sessions designed to equip students with the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed in their academic journey and beyond.
