Familiarization of minor courses and MDCs – FYUGP 2024:
KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri conducted an informative and engaging program for the familiarization of minor courses and Multi-Disciplinary Courses (MDCs) for all first-year undergraduate students (FYUGP 2024). The event took place on July 18 and 19, 2024, in the college auditorium, inauguration by Prof. (Dr.) Muhammed Basheer Ummathur, Principal and featured presentations by representative faculty members from each department. These faculty members provided detailed overviews of their respective minor courses and MDCs, outlining the objectives, opportunities, and academic benefits associated with each course. This structured approach allowed the first-year students to gain a comprehensive understanding of the diverse academic options available to them. The first-year students actively participated in the program, showing a keen interest in the presentations and engaging in discussions with the faculty members. The sessions were designed to be interactive, allowing students to ask questions and clarify any doubts they had regarding the courses. This ensured that the students could make informed decisions about their academic pathways. The feedback from the students was overwhelmingly positive, indicating their appreciation for the insights and guidance provided during the program. The event not only enhanced their understanding of the minor courses and MDCs but also motivated them to explore interdisciplinary learning opportunities. The program was coordinated by Dr. Jamsheena V., Assistant Professor from the Department of Chemistry, and Dr. Faseela P., Assistant Professor from the Department of Botany. Additionally, Mr. Siraj, Photographer from the College Studio, played a significant role in smooth execution of the program and capturing the essence of the event.
