Programme Report: Department Level Orientation Program for BSc Mathematics First-Year Students The Department of Mathematics conducted a successful orientation program for first-year BSc Mathematics students on July 10, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 3:40 PM in Classroom B306. The event, inaugurated by Ms. Ashitha P A (HOD in charge), aimed to introduce students to the department, faculty, and available resources, providing valuable insights into the academic structure and fostering a sense of community. Dr. Bajeel P N delivered an informative session about the department’s history, achievements, and future plans, while Ms. Farsana M engaged with the students in an interactive session and delivered the vote of thanks. The program also included a guided tour of the department’s facilities, helping students familiarize themselves with the environment. Positive feedback highlighted the comprehensive introduction and faculty interaction, with suggestions for longer interactive sessions and more information on extracurricular activities. The orientation program achieved its objectives, ensuring a warm welcome for the new students and setting the stage for their academic journey.
