FYUGP Orientation Class

The Commerce Department conducted an orientation class for the B. Com Computer Application (CA) students to introduce them to the Four-Year Undergraduate Program (FYUGP) on July 10,2024 in Room No A107. The session aimed to provide an overview of the program structure, learning outcomes, and available opportunities. The orientation was structured into four informative sessions, each addressing different aspects of the FYUGP. The first session was led by Ms. Siyana E. K,Assistant Professor of Commerce (Adhoc) who spoke about the essential graduate attributes that students are expected to develop throughout their course. And explained overall credit structure of the programme. Ms. Jumana, Assistant professor of Commerce (Adhoc)conducted the second session, focusing on the programme outcomes of the FYUGP. She provided a detailed explanation of the expected competencies and skills that graduates should possess upon completing the program. Ms. Jumana discussed how these outcomes align with industry standards and the broader goals of higher education, ensuring that students are well-prepared for their future career. In the third session, Ms. Rahiya thasneem pp, Assistant Professor of Commerce(Adhoc),enlightened the students about the various pathways and minor programs and Multi Disciplinary Courses available at Unity Women’s College. She explained how students could tailor their educational journey according to their interests and career aspirations. The final session was presented by Ms. Mursila, Assistant Professor of Commerce (Adhoc), who introduced the concept of the Academic Bank of Credits. She detailed how the this system allows students to accumulate and transfer credits across different institutions and programs, providing greater flexibility and mobility in their academic pursuits. Overall, the orientation class was a significant step in familiarizing the B. Com CA students with the FYUGP structure and its various components.
