FYUGP Orientation Programme for First-Year BSc Botany Honours Students
On July 10, 2024, the Department of Botany conducted a comprehensive orientation programme tailored for the incoming first-year BSc Botany Honours students. The programme commenced with an inaugural address by Dr. Usman A., HOD, Department of Botany who provided an insightful overview of the FYUG programme, emphasizing its structure and academic objectives. This introduction was crucial in setting the stage for the student’s academic journey, outlining the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. Dr. Faseela P., Assistant Professor proceeded to elucidate the course basket system integral to the FYUGP, detailing how it facilitates the selection and organization of courses across various disciplines. Following this, Dr. Deepa P, the class tutor, delved into the specifics of the major course in Botany within the FYUGP curriculum. FYUGP orientation session equipped students with a deeper understanding of the core subjects and expectations within their chosen field, ensuring they were well-prepared to embark on their academic journey.
