PG Department of Computer Science, Korambayil Ahamed Haji Memorial Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, organized an IT Exhibition named INNOVI8 2024, led by the 5th Semester Computer Science degree students. The expo was held over three days, from August 21 to 23. The inaugural event took place in the college seminar hall on the first day.
Haris U, the staff coordinator for the exhibition and Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science, delivered the welcome address. Rahib B, Head of the Department of Computer Science, presided over the event, while the college principal, Professor Dr. Muhammad Basheer Ummathur, addressed the gathering on behalf of the college. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Honorable Manjeri MLA, Adv. U. A. Lathif and the IoT Lab was inaugurated by College Manager Retd. Er. O. Abdul Ali.
IQAC Coordinator Dr. Shahina Mol A. K., IIC Coordinator Dr. Bajil P. N., NTS Representative Yusuf V and Union Chairperson Shiril Ullattil also extended their greetings during the event. Student Coordinator Hasifa Sherin delivered the vote of thanks.
The exhibition was open to college students as well as students from nearby higher secondary schools and colleges. This event marked the first-ever student-led IoT expo in the history of Calicut University. In addition to showcasing around twenty-five IoT projects, the expo featured stalls such as holograms, website development, code debug, escape rooms, and turtle graphics. The event provided students with insights into cutting-edge innovations in information technology and the influence of IoT, robotics, and related fields on the modern world.
