The NCC Army Wing of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, celebrated ‘International Yoga Day’ on June 21st, Wednesday, from 8:15 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in the College CH Auditorium. The session was instructed and demonstrated by the Associated NCC Officer, Lt. Loosiya KP. 67 Cadets participated in the session. This year’s International Day of Yoga theme was ‘Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, which represents ‘Yoga for the Welfare of All as One World—One Family’. The purpose of International Yoga Day was to raise awareness of the numerous benefits of yoga for physical and mental health. The instructor demonstrated and explained the benefits of different asanas like Pranayama, Kapalabhati, Trikonasana, Vriksasana, Vakrasana, Bhujangasana, Chakrasana, Halasana, etc., as well as Suryanamaskar. It emphasises the significance of finding balance in our fast-paced, modern lives and promotes physical, mental, and spiritual harmony. Mindfulness, stress reduction, and overall health and vitality are all promoted by yoga. Cadets actively participated in the session. Lt. Loosiya KP and UO Ayisha Risni K (5th Sem BSc Psychology) were the faculty and student coordinators of the programme respectively.
