The aim o[the visit was to get[amiliar- ized with various research techniques in the field o[Plant pathology, Molecular biology and Biotechnology.A research station visit was made to ICAR – The Indian Institute of Spices Research (IISR), Calicut by the PG stu- dent of the Department of Botany on 22ndJune 2o22. The aim of the visit was to get familiarized with various re- search techniques in the field of Plant pathology, Molec- ular biology and Biotechnology. Students also visited the plantation nursery of pepper, nutmeg, etc. The institute carries out research, training and extension on a range of disciplines related to various spices and crops. Research station visit imparted a practical perspective on the world of research and took them beyond the boundaries of theoretical knowledge. A field study trip was conducted to ecological sensi- tive site of Kadalundi Vallikkunnu Community Reserve (KVCR), Kadalundi, Calicut on 22ndJune 2o22. The aim was to visit the mangrove conservation area and Kada- lundi Bird Sanctuary. The natural resources, the various species of flora and fauna have been well preserved in Vallikkunnu region.
