Rebuilding a Better Wayanad

The Association program on “Rebuilding a Better Wayanad” was a successful event that brought together students of Department of Commerce to discuss and learn about disaster management and sustainable development. It was conducted on 8th August,2024. The sessions were informative, interactive, and engaging, providing valuable insights to the participants. Ms. Muhsina T, Faculty Coordinator, welcomed the participants and introduced the topic of the program. The objective of the program was to create awareness and discuss the importance of rebuilding a better Wayanad, focusing on post-disaster assessment, community engagement, and ecosystem restoration. Th event begins with visual representation of landslides in Wayanad district of Kerala. Rasha Fathima (3 rd semester B.Com co-operation) discussed the importance of assessing damage after a disaster and identifying areas for improvement. Shyma sherin and Jasna sherin (3rd semester bcom co-operation) emphasized the need for community involvement in rebuilding efforts and Sfitha (5th semester B.Com co-operation) shared their expertise on restoring ecosystems after a disaster. Interactive Session: The sessions were followed by an interactive Q&A session, where participants engaged with the resource persons. Renna Lehan ( 3rd semester B.com co-operation) delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource persons, faculty coordinator, and student coordinator for organizing the program.
