Research Club Inauguration at P. G. Department of Botany, KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri on 5th October 2023 was a momentous event, graced by the presence of Dr. Kishore Kumar K., Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Botany, Farook college, Kozhikode who delivered an insightful talk on the topic of ‘Forest Research: Prospects and Limitations.’ The event began with a warm welcome speech by Dr. Usman A., Head, Department of Botany followed by a presidential address by Principal Dr. Muhammad Basheer Ummathur. Dr. Kishore Kumar began his talk by underlining the critical importance of forest research in the contemporary world. He emphasized that forests play a pivotal role in addressing environmental challenges, maintaining biodiversity, and ensuring sustainable resource management. He discussed various avenues, such as conservation biology, forest ecology, and climate change mitigation, where research could make a significant impact. He also highlighted the potential for technological advancements to revolutionize data collection and analysis in forest research. First year, second year MSc Botany and final year BSc Botany students attended the program. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Faseela P, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany.
