Annual Sports meet “Khelo Unity 2023-24
The College annual sports meet “Khelo Unity” 2023-24, organized by the Department of Physical Education and Meridia Students union 2023-24 was conducted at college ground on 7th and 8th February 2024. The event aimed to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and physical fitness among the students, fostering a sense of unity. The event commenced with an Inaugural ceremony marked by a vibrant March Past of participants representing various groups. The inauguration was done by Mr. Shajirudheen Koppilan, Former KSEB Player, Coach at Gokulam Kerala. The College Principal addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of sports in holistic development. The students were seperated into four groups namely Atlantis, Herculisis, Hermies and Nikeis for the smooth conduction of the event. A plethora of athletic events captivated the audience, including sprint races, long jump, high jump, relay races, and shot put. As part of the annual Sports meet, games was also conducted on the following days. Badminton – 24.01.2024 & 25.01.2024 Cricket – 01.02.2024 Football – 02.02.2024 The team Atlantis was the overall champions of Khelo Unity 2023-24. Mr. Hamraz Ahamed M, Assistant Professor of Physical Education Given the champions trophy for the team Atlantis. “Khelo Unity” served as a platform for students to showcase their athletic talents and promote a healthy lifestyle. To sum up, the event was a resounding success, fostering a spirit of unity, sportsmanship and cultural diversity among the students.
