The Malayalam Department of KAHM Unity Women’s College organized a celebration known as “Basheer Day” to commemorate the renowned Malayalam writer Vaikom Muhammad Basheer on july 5, 2024. The event was marked by the screening of a documentary about Basheer, highlighting his life and literary contributions.The event commenced with an inaugural speech by Arifa beegum, faculty in malayalam, who highlighted the significance of Vaikom Muhammad Basheer’s contributions to Malayalam literature and the relevance of his works in contemporary times. Showcasing a well-researched documentary that covered various aspects of Basheer’s life, including his personal experiences, literary journey, and socio-cultural impact.the event successfully highlighted Basheer’s enduring legacy and his significant contributions to Malayalam literature. It provided an enriching experience for all attendees, fostering a greater appreciation for the cultural and literary heritage of Kerala.
