NutriBridge: Connecting Foundations to Future PG Dept. of Home Science —————————————— The PG Department of Home Science organised the “NutriBridge: Connecting Foundations to Future” induction programme for first-year PG students on 14 Aug 2024, at Room No. B107. The primary objective of this programme was to introduce the students to the department and provide a comprehensive understanding of the field of Nutrition & Dietetics. The event aimed to familiarize students with the departmental structure, the curriculum, research opportunities, career paths, and the student support services available at the college. The programme commenced with a warm welcome from Dr. NV Fatimathu Zuhara, Assistant Professor, who introduced the faculty members, creating an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for the new students. Following this, Lt. Loosiya KP, Assistant Professor Adhoc, presented a detailed overview of the Nutrition & Dietetics curriculum, covering core subjects and elective options. This provided the students with a clear understanding of the academic requirements and opportunities within their programme. She also discussed student support services offered by the college including academic support, counselling and extracurricular activities designed to aid students’ overall development and well-being. Ms. Bushaira V, Assistant Professor Adhoc, then discussed research opportunities available in the field, outlining current initiatives and potential areas for student involvement. This was followed by a presentation by Ms. Farsana Shirin K (Assistant Professor Adhoc), who explored various career paths and job opportunities for Nutrition & Dietetics graduates, helping students envision their future careers. The comprehensive sessions clarified academic expectations, research avenues, career prospects, and available support, ensuring that the students began their journey with confidence and a clear understanding of their path forward. The programme was coordinated by Lt. Loosiya. KP (Class Tutor and Assistant Professor Adhoc) and Ms. Muhsina (I Sem MSc HSc (N&D))
