Department of Mathematics

Overview

Unity Women’s College, Department of Mathematics was started in 1993-94, as a subsidiary of BSc Chemistry and BSc Computer Science. The department now offers complementary courses to first four semesters of BSc Chemistry and BSc Computer Science.

Department has its own soft computing lab to equip students in computational mathematics.
Department has MoUs with reputed mathematics departments.

Department organises national/international seminars/ workshops, academic visits/training programmes.

Mission

Support and guide students to enhance their mathematical skills.
Help students to develop problem solving skills and knowledge of the subjects and thereby prepare for higher studies and career opportunities.

Vision

The students will be able to assimilate and appreciate mathematical skill and thereby boosting the learning of applied sciences.
To help the Students to meet the competencies like programming, preparation of algorithms, derivations of results etc in-order to prepare them for higher studies.
Students can enhance logical thinking through an integrated approach between various branches of science to foster scientific outlook.
