‘Eco Bag Design Lab’ by Women cell and Bhoomithra sena club
On 26th July 2024, the KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, witnessed a significant event with the inauguration of the “Eco Bag Design Lab.” This paper bag making unit, established under the aegis of the Women Cell and Bhoomithra sena Club, aims to promote sustainable practices, empower students with practical skills in eco-friendly product design and to earn while learn. The programme’s primary objective is to produce eco-friendly paper bags, crafted by our diligent women cell and Bhoomithra sena Club students, which will be utilized for the distribution of uniforms for the first-year students in this year onwards. The principal Prof. Muhammed Basheer Ummathur inaugurated the activities of women cell for the year 2024-25 held at the NRSC Annex, commenced at 01.20 PM. The inauguration of ‘Eco Bag Design Lab’, with Er. O. Abdul Ali, the esteemed Manager of KAHM Unity Women’s College officiating the event. The principal highlighted the importance of sustainable initiatives and praised the collaborative efforts of the Women Cell in bringing this project to fruition. In his inaugural address, the principal emphasized the growing need for eco-friendly alternatives to plastic and how such initiatives align with global environmental goals.
