FYUGP ORIENTATION PROGRAM- DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY (10/7/2024)
The Department of Psychology of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri conducted an induction program for the first-year BSc Psychology students on 10th July 2024, in classroom B202. The program commenced at 9:30 am with an inauguration by the Head of the Department, Fathima Shirin K A. She warmly welcomed the new students and provided an introduction to the department and the newly implemented FYUGP (Four-Year Undergraduate Program). Fathima Shirin K A highlighted the skills, knowledge, and values that students are expected to acquire upon graduation and explained the credit system and the overall credit structure of the BSc Psychology Honours program.
The second session, starting at 10:30 am, was led by Thasneem Rahmathulla (Assistant Professor Ad hoc). She elaborated on the program outcomes, program-specific outcomes, and course outcomes. Thasneem provided insights into the skills and knowledge that students are expected to develop during the BSc program. She emphasized the importance of these outcomes in shaping the students’ academic and professional futures.
Hajara (Assistant Professor Ad hoc) handled the remaining sessions, beginning at 11:40 am with an explanation of the available pathways, including the minor and multidisciplinary options at the college. In the final session at 1:40 pm, she discussed how students can transfer credits between programs or institutions. Hajara also addressed the possibility of completing the program in a shorter duration, such as one, two, or three years, providing flexibility to the students in planning their academic journey. The program was concluded at 3:40 pm, leaving the students well-informed and excited about their academic path in psychology.
