Dr. V. Hikmathulla, Assistant Professor in the Department of Malayalam at KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, inaugurated the Basheer Day celebration on July 5, 2024, at Markasul Uloom English Senior Secondary School, Kondotty.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Hikmathulla spoke about the enduring relevance of Basheer’s works. To commemorate Basheer Day, a sapling planting ceremony for a mangosteen tree was held, emphasizing the ecological awareness present in Basheer’s stories.
