Training Session on SWAYAM Online Courses
The Department of History, KAHM Unity Women’s College Manjeri organized a training session on SWAYAM Online Courses for the second year BA History students. The session was held on 24 June 2024 at 10:40 AM in the Association Hall. Haris Ummath, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, was the resource person for the event. Haris Ummath began his presentation with a comprehensive introduction to SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds), detailing its inception by the Government of India to promote digital learning. He emphasized the significance of SWAYAM as a revolutionary platform providing free access to a plethora of courses across various disciplines, aiming to bridge the digital divide and make quality education accessible to all. Haris Ummath also pointed out the interactive nature of SWAYAM courses, which include video lectures, reading materials, quizzes, and discussion forums, fostering a holistic and engaging learning experience. He concluded by discussing the certification process, where students can earn certificates upon successful completion of courses, and how these certifications can add value to their resumes and aid in career advancement. Jaseena C, Assistant Professor of History, welcomed the guest and the audience, while Munjiya proposed vote of appreciation.
