WORKSHOP ON TROUBLESHOOTING & MAINTENANCE OF HOME APPLIANCES

The main objectives of the programme are

  1. To familiarize students with house wiring.
  2. To detect problems connected with damaged appliances.
  3. To equip students to rectify problems with home appliances and thereby make it possible to reuse those appliances.
  4. Understand key elements of electrical and electronics appliances.
  5. Learn how to use various tools and equipments to find the fault in electronic
  6. Learn how to test if a component is working properly or not and find substitute for it
  7. Learn about the general troubleshooting steps and how to narrow down to the fault in electronics
  8. To promote scientific literacy and encourage young people to pursue careers in science and technology.
  9. Basic safety practices.

The scope of the programme lies in the fact that every individual  uses large number of appliances daily. Also every human being is directly involved in handling home appliances, electrical wiring, etc. Most of the people find it difficult to address emergency issues even in their  home. With proper training most of the issues can be solved simply and hazards can be reduced.

Students Involvement in Organizing the programme:

Students in the Final year Computer Science department actively involved in the programme. They designed a beautiful brochure for the programme. Moreover they arranged the Physics lab for conducting the workshop in the lab. Geotagged Photos of the programme was taken by students. Registration of participants for the programme ,attendance of participants ,etc were recorded by students.Vote of thanks to resource person was delivered by Ms.Nishwa, the student coordinator.
